Note on the Big Three

Bail them out. But do so with caution. Too much money has been spent on style, and not enough on innovation. This is both unacceptable, and unreasonable. The Big Three auto corporations have as much doomed themselves as others have doomed them. There is a reason the American people have chosen foreign cars. The gas mileage is more efficient over seas than here, and yet they manage to maintain the power, the safety, and the performance.

But bail them out with the requirements of certain fields being met.

Otherwise we simply are bailing them out, to eventually bail them out again. Either they shape up, or we take the burn, let them ship out, and regenerate a successful business plan for some other entrepreneur.

Corporations

We have given them too much power.

We are seeing the greatest rise of monopolies in our entire history of corporate and financial growth. This period has invented things like G&E or my personal favorite piece of that company, PG&E. PG&E, for those of you who are not familiar, is a corporation owned and operated by G&E. PG&E controls the electricity of the western united states. And in my city, Salem, it is the only company available.

So Suddenly I get this pretty little bill in the mail for 280.00. I own a one bedroom apartment running a 12 inch tv, a fridge, and a laptop, (Acer Aspire 5920 gemstone series)

Amazing. The lights stay off, I dn't run the AC and I still get a bill. Let me be honest on how big this apartment really is. Let us say less than 200 square feet. Ouch.

280 bucks eh?

But what can you do if you can 't pay that bill? Find another company that gives electricity...OR NOT. PG&E owns it all. And there is no other possible service.

Next on my hit list of tyrant companies is Wal-Mart.

Ya, I know there are other stores that offer many similar products, but the fact is, Wal-mart only stays cheap while it knocks out the competition.

Once the competition is gone, all you have left is Wal-Mart, and the prices miraculously revive themselves...

*sigh* when will we learn to stop digging our own graves... --__--

Well, that's it for now.

That Secret Cellar: Darkness

Alas, my story is beginning, the words are not spoken;

Though new darkness comes, and much light is now broken,

Here in this cellar, I stand at the door waiting....

Here in this cellar, I stand guard for your craving.

We bring ourselves to ruin over the simplest things in our lives,

just a little bit more money, or an even better ride;

Many would not stop to think about taking what they'd like,

Another game system? Maybe, how 'bo [...]

Who would keep the nation safe?

ORIGINAL QUESTION LINK!! coverawards.com/longline
BARACK Obama.

Why?

Let me break it to all of you softly; Our problems cannot just be solved by increasing border security, scaring the crap out of Americans, and claiming that those radical terrorists are everywhere, so be on the lookout.

No, we can only solve it by creating a network that not only negotiates with foreign countries, but also increases world opinion of our country. Only Barack Obama offers that.

Second, McCain supports the continuation of ignoring talks with countries we don't agree with--that is a failed plan that can only lead to war.

Third, Obama is extremely favored by the world, compared to our nation. In fact, one national poll suggests an 80% approval rate for Obama to be our next president.

Some would argue its because they know Obama is weak (?? PROVE THAT) BUt I would argue that it is because they know that for once, we will have a leader that is reasonable, sane, and ready to work with our nation, here at home, and fix the economy, thereby helping the economy of multiple allies. They also know that Obama will work with the world on peaceful terms, but will maintain a strike force in the middle east, while pulling troops back home.

His plan is the right one. Fall behind Obama, or fall behind.

Your choice.

But remember this-- Our nation was founded under the principles of liberty, freedom, and opportunity. Remember that the next time you thin about a candidate...and don't vote based on fear, or bigotry. Don't claim obama is a muslim radical, etc.

RESEARCH AND MAKE AN "INFORMED" decision. Not one based on rumors, and ideas rooted in racism and darkness.

Think about our future...The youth support Obama for a reason...

Operation Panic Complete

Well, I panicked.

I didn't think I was going to pass all of my classes this term.

If I didn't pass, that meant many things--

The loss of what aid I do have,

The loss of my apartment,

The loss of college,

The loss of self-respect.

Although, on a self-respect note, I respect the fact that I am even continuing my education. Most others in my family never got the chance, and some of them just chose not to anyway.

I have to look forward at the next few years, and I have to know, as I continue on this education path, that the world will expect a lot of money from me once I have graduated.

I will be in debt.

Only in a society lie ours can you go to college, and still come out broker than when you went in. The prospect of salvation? Good work.

I plan on majoring in the performing arts, and in journalism.

Then I plan on going ahead and coming back for my juris doctorate.

Let's see how that goes. I know I can do it. The question is can I last through all the grueling work that doesn't always lead any where spectacular.

I believe so.

We shall see I guess...

We shall see.

As for school, and as far as my grades go this term, no they weren't great. a D, two C's a B and an A.

But you know what?

I am still proud.

I passed another term, even with other things going on in my life, and I made it through another hard spring.

Good job Cody, I give myself a pat on the back.

Now, this time, build on what you learned, and go out next term with both hands out infront of you,  sleeves rolled up, and eyes focused on the prize.

My Endorsement

28obama.600.jpg (JPEG Image, 600x331 pixels)

The hope of our youth, of our nation. I am now endorsing Barack Obama for president of the United States, officially.

Why?

Because we need change, because obama supports full healthcare coverage for all Americans, because he supports a policy that does not ignore countries in the world just because we do not agree with their standards.

Because he understands that the youth are an important voice in the directional movement of our country, and that any movement must be a movement made by the people, and not an elite group of politicians.

Because he spoke to this nation, spoke with this nation, now down on this nation. Because his humble beginnings are the ultimate epitaph to the american dream.

Because he took a chance on America.

Because America has no chance in taking him as its leader.

Because change is needed, and a third Bush term does not bring change.

Because .

That's why.

So get informed, and support change in the right direction. Not backwards, towards the days of darkness and armor, as McCain would so love to send us.

I shall leave us with a quote.

"I know not with what weapons world war three will be fought with, but world war four will be fought with sticks and stones. - Einstein

Thoughts on Iraq

I may only be 18...

But I think I know when to say enough is enough.

Iraq has been a thorn in our side for over five years, causing both Democrats and Republicans to get in heated debate over when, if to end the war in Iraq.
And where has that gotten us?

Absolutely no where.

We are still in Iraq, we still have soldiers dropping like flies, and our highest commanders are still telling us that we are making huge progress in Iraq.

Huge progress?

Could someone define that?

Because, as far as I can tell, we seem to be going absolutely no where.

Yes, someone might say, well, you don't really know much, you haven't been over there! To that, I reply, I can tell when something has been botched so bad that virtually every other country in the world is starting to back away from the situation, whistling, like some felix the cartoon cartoon.

Dear lord.

The Facebook Showdown

I AM!

And I will be the first to say that I maintain a facebook account that brings me plenty of joy.

So get started, join, sign up, and start telling the world what you are doing, who you are dating, and what events you are attending.

Go on... get started...

AND NOW A WARNING.

It will be next to impossible to erase your account from Facebook if there ever becomes a need to do it. Why? Because they have made it next to impossible. You will be required to delete each and every entry ever made into your facebook account, one by one by one. It will take days. And when you are finished, they will send you an e-mail saying there is a bit mroe they need you to do...

All of your credit card accounts that you have entered, your phone numbers, your e-mail addresses, your real address, your friends names, their family, your families pictures...All of it will be available for a very long time.

It occurred to me, while deciding on whether I would want an employer to randomly be able to find my name, my friends, and other things on the site that I hardly like to share with anyone but my closest friends.

I researched how one would erase their entire life off of the net, if it was on something like facebook.

I found, at one point of pure exhausted effort, that it would be easier to single handedly create the universe.

In other words, maintain a social site at your own risk. Just remember: It may be easier to just go to the local coffee shop and develop friends than to create a social world on the net. At least, it will be in the long run.

As for me, I will continue to maintain my social networking site. Why? Because I am already stuck, and I will lose less sleep if I just tailor what it is I write about myself, rather than attempt to erase everything that came before.

Happy networking!

Fuel Saving Tips

Publicize any way you can. Pick one a do a spotlight show on that issue. Do PSA or tag lines on your broadcast..........please help get this message out. And forward to other media avenues to also get the message out there!

Although this may be long, it is worth the read, and there are cliff notes at
the end so that you can go back and skip thru. Find one you can do, and do it!
If you see yourself in here and get your feelings hurt...get over it. Truth
hurts. Do something about it.

How sick are you really of paying high gasoline prices? I drive about 200
miles every day, yet my gas bill is about $23 bucks a week. Yep, it's a
smaller car, but that is moot; because I could make it equal out in a bigger
car. A few years ago it was about $10. So, on average yeah, I'm disgusted
too.

But, it's about WHAT you do on the road. Here are things I see each and
every day. And when I see them I share my motto with the offender. My Motto
sarcastically:
"Glad to see the high cost of gasoline is not affecting you!" And I
walk off. If it wasn't for someone calling the police for theft, I'd
reach in and shut their car off.

IT IS UP TO YOU!
IT IS UP TO YOU!
That's right, YOU. YOU. YOU. YOU.
It truly is, here's how:
And this is just based off 30 cars 15 cities. 30! Imagine every city doing
this.

Trains -- when you encounter a train YOU HAVE to wait for it. TURN THE ENGINE
OFF. You are stuck. You are going nowhere until that train(s) gets out of your
way. Are you? Do you really need to let your car run the gas out? Last night I
sat and waited 11 minutes on a train. There were over 30 cars on both sides of
tracks. In my 11 minutes, I wasted zero, 0, none, not a drop of gasoline. 30
cars just sitting running; I'm guessing more, but it was at least a gallon.
(Probably more) using minimums TO GET THE MATH

30 cars x 4 trains a day x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon x 7 days in a week = 12,600 gallons of gasoline....just
given back to the oil rich countries. Anyone know how many gallons in a barrel?

Check the pump - when getting gas watch the meters run through the first
gallon. If you are to be paying $3.15 a gallon - did the pump, read that? Many
calibrations get off. If I am paying $3.15, a gallon, I don't want the
pump to give me a gallon for $3.10..3.12.. 3.09 etc.
If its not registering pump posted price, I move my car. And I don't want
to say it's not big deal because it's only a few cents. This pump is
used HOW many times a day?
And PLEASE people turn the engine off when you are pumping gas. I saw this last
night. How could you NOT be smart about that?? Uhhh, safety, sparks, gasoline,
shit happens?
AND THEN I REPORT that pump to the Dept of Weights and Measures. All states
should have them. Read your pump; there'll be a sticker somewhere. There
are generally labels that tell you who what where when to complain to. It will
do you no good to go inside and tell the clerk. Call your Dept of Weights and
Measures, force them to fix the pump. I have reported over 10 pumps. (Probably
more) using minimums TO GET THE MATH

30 cars report x 400 wrong pumps x 15 major cities in US (we all know
there's way way more) x off by yes one penny x 7 days in a week use /
by 3.13 a gallon = 402 gallon of gasoline ....just given back to the oil rich
countries.

Now were at 13,002 gallons OR $40,696.26 back in the good ole American
pocketbook

Fill up - one gallon or one buck less - if it takes ten gallons to fill your
tank, each week get one gallon less. What does this mean? Well, eat lunch IN
one day at work. Walk somewhere within a X block radius to not notice the
loss of one gallon. FIND a way to make it WORK for you. If you drive to the
gym to exercise, walk one day. IF you can take a bus or walk one day, do so.
IT'S JUST ONE DAY, not like it is your whole life. Most people can survive
without something for one day. (Probably more) using minimums TO GET THE MATH

30 cars report x 30 gallon less x 15 major cities in US (we all know
there's way way more) x = 13,500 gallon of gasoline ....just given
back to the oil rich countries.

Now were at 26,502 gallons OR $83,481.30 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Waiting at mall bank grocery day care, etc - THIS DRIVES ME NUTS! Everyday I
pass someone sitting somewhere, and generally I pass 3-5 people a day doing
this. Just sitting in their car with the engine running, in construction zones
of standstill traffic, at the mall; at the bank, at a car lot, at the ATM, at
the library, at a store, at the grocery store, and what are they doing? waiting
on someone to run in the store and come back out. Come on! Any trip in / out
anywhere, by the time you find what you need, get rung up and out the door
it's again, TEN minutes of gas just running out.
Turn the engine OFF. This is where I always say loudly My Motto "Glad
to see the high cost of gasoline is not affecting you!" And I walk off.
Pisses me off worse, I'M the one getting dirty looks, but the rest of us
are all paying for stupidity. In this case it is stupidity, not ignorance.
(Probably more) using minimums TO GET THE MATH

30 cars x 4 times a day x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon x 7 days in a week = 1,800 gallons of gasoline....just given
back to the oil rich countries.

Now were at 28,302 gallons OR $89,151.30 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Fast food - I have a rule. If I am not car number 1 ONE at the drive thru,
I go in. I turn the engine off. GET off my ASS and actually walk in the fast
food restaurant? Why? The average is 3-5 minutes PER....yes per car; getting
thru the line. If there are 5 cars you are wasting 25 minutes of fuel. Some
places I have seen (Like the IN/OUT Burger which I will never get..beyond me)
have over 20 cars in line. Rationalize it to yourself, if your doing fast food,
chances are YOU need the exercise anyway. (Probably more) using minimums TO GET
THE MATH

30 cars x 4 times a day x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon x 7 days in a week x 5 cars in line = 63,000 gallons of
gasoline....just given back to the oil rich countries.

Now were at 86,802 gallons OR $273,426.30 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good
ole American pocketbook

Cab Truck Drivers/Police/Work Vehicles - Any of those who drive for a living -
It does matter if you say this is a company truck, big deal, I'm not paying.
Yes, you are! it still takes fuel and we still pay. Treat it the same. THIS
DRIVES ME NUTS! Everyday I pass someone sitting somewhere, and generally I pass
3-5 people a day doing this. Just sitting in their car with the engine running,
Hey, cab / truck driver just sitting at the airport, Turn the engine OFF. Hey
Mr. Policeman - every car slammed on their brakes when they saw the two of
you sitting side by side chatting; do our tax dollars a favor, Turn the engine
OFF. This is where I always say loudly my Motto "Glad to see the high
cost of gasoline is not affecting you!" And I walk off. Pisses me off
worse, I'M the one getting dirty looks, but the rest of us are all paying
for stupidity. In this case it is stupidity, not ignorance. (And yes I know
Diesels, OTR vehicles; have to warm up and are treated differently. They
don't warm up for 12 - 24 hours as it sits somewhere.) (Probably more)
using minimums TO GET THE MATH

30 cars x 4 times a day x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon x 7 days in a week = 1,800 gallons of gasoline....just given
back to the oil rich countries.

Now were at 88,602 gallons OR $279,096.30 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Teen Drivers - You are the parent. They are still the kid. Set limits. Take
away the car for one day a week and make them stay home and actually bond with
them. You might be surprised. And they waste no fuel that night. Invite their
friends over for the night rather than cruising. (Why did you just groan, are
your kids that bad?) But at least force their car away from them one night.
Again it's one night.
And teens don't fight it. Even if you work to pay for your gas, a) you
should be doing all the others in the email b) what all else does Mom and Dad
pay for?
(Probably more) using minimums TO GET THE MATH

30 cars x 4 times a day x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon x 7 days in a week = 1,800 gallons of gasoline....just given
back to the oil rich countries.

Now were at 90,402 gallons OR $284,766.30 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Cell Phones & Citations - When you are pulled over for cell phone calls or
citations; TURN THE ENGINE OFF. Personally I would love it if in the citations
instance our police forces out there were at first acknowledging that you will
be detained, probably more than 10 minutes and say something to you like
"I invite you to help our nation conserve energy by turning your vehicle
off; while I am processing....etc." Because face it, your not going
anywhere; just burning fuel.
And for the few who actually pull over for cell phone calls (first of all THANK
YOU!) second, IF you turn off the engine, YOU can hear better and get no
intereference signals. Plus, you saved gasoline. I have seen some of these go
on for over a half hour while the engine just runs. Yes, I have a love affair
with my car, but not with the fuel.

30 cars x 4 times a day x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon x 7 days in a week = 1,800 gallons of gasoline....just given
back to the oil rich countries.

Now were at 92,202 gallons OR $290,436.30 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Gas cans - If you are mowing the yard, using a chain saw or generator, etc.
...Don't fill the gas can up. Get only what you need for this time. Gas
sitting in a can is money wasted, even if it's only a dime. or a penny.
Dimes and pennies add up. And the next time you need to use this machinery,
hey there will still be gas out there for sale! And by that time you may be
paying a lesser price.

30 cans x 1 time a week x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x .5 gallon = 225 gallons of gasoline....just given back to the oil
rich countries.

Now were at 90,627 gallons OR $285.475.05 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Set a block limit - Take one week and actually WATCH where you drive. It gets
methodical after so long and you don't really think about your trips, you
just go. But start paying attention. If your trips are say in 3-6 block
radius, walk. Or set a limit, if I am going somewhere that is say 3-6 blocks
away, force yourself to walk it. It costs more to fire the car, run the fuel
thru than is worth the effort for this short of a distance. And I look around
and sad to say - I see many, many people who need to get out of that car and
walk more.

30 cars x 1 day a week x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon = 450 gallons of gasoline....just given back to the oil
rich countries.

Now were at 92,652gallons OR $291,853.80 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Highway Road Driving following Trucks - if you are highway driving if you keep
about 4-6 car lengths behind a semi on the road, his tail wind will help pull
your car and you will save gas on your trip. Keeping enough distance so you
are not tailgating; just so his backwind is helping to pull you along.

30 cars x 1 day a week x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x 1 gallon = 450 gallons of gasoline....just given back to the oil
rich countries.

Now were at 93,102 gallons OR $293,271.30 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Slowing Down - if you slow your car down to the posted speed limit, you will
also save gas. And guess what? On average do you know how much time you lose
per trip by not speeding? WOW! you get there generally one to five minutes
later. Yep, I've timed my trips. I have seen cars go roaring by me, going
slower; in a hurry to ....one block later be sitting side by side with them at
the next stop light. Did that make any sense? Nope.

And keep your car in good condition. Oil and filters changed, tires rotated,
etc. It all does help.

30 cars x 1 day a week x 15 major cities in US (we all know there's
more) x .5 gallon = 225 gallons of gasoline....just given back to the oil
rich countries.

Now were at 93,552 gallons OR $294,688.80 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good ole
American pocketbook

Lunches - If you work in a place where frequently multiple go out to lunch to
different places, consolidate; alternate...but try to get only one person going
one place for all. Phone in your order ahead. Just for communicating with the
people you spend 40 fours a week with.

30 cars x 5 day a week x 15 major cities in US x 15 businesses (we all
know there's more) x .5 gallon = 16, 875 gallons of gasoline....just
given back to the oil rich countries.

Now were at 110, 427 gallons OR $347,845.05 @ $3.15 gallon back in the good
ole American pocketbook

Boycott - Face it the only way a gas boycott is going to work is this:
SHUT ALL THE SEMIS DOWN FOR A DAY
Again,
SHUT ALL THE SEMIS DOWN FOR A DAY

Boy, I'd be willing to ask the truckers, but when you do that you will shut
America down. But THAT will lower gas prices immediately!
(IF there are any truckers out there willing to take a day for the cause ??????
Please plan it with each other! All of us others will love you to pieces for
it!)

Hey, the Coca Cola man idea, two years ago I got it for 99 cents a gallon, two
days ago I got it for 1.30 a gallon....is it working? No.
But back to plain simple common sense driving will. And all those gas boycotts
really did work didn't they? Wake up all that happened was you junk mailed
your friends email boxes with a fantasy.

(Although, I would speculate that shutting down 5000 of them one day would make
a huge dent!)

NO MATH, WE KNOW THAT IT ISN"T HAPPENING.

Please feel free to add any of your own you see; certainly I can't have
noticed it all. I would love for you to copy me when you do; at
jasinez2005@yahoo.com Then forward this today, Pull up tomorrow forward
again, three days from now forward again and again. Until the ideas become
habits. Many many times habits take 8-20 go arounds.

And if you are a bolder type of person, forward this as a "letter to
editor" for a your city's or a few city's newspapers. The more
people conserving, a drop here a drop there...makes a gallon here a gallon
there, into a barrel into a lot more than you think.

Again;
IT IS UP TO YOU!
IT IS UP TO YOU!

All numbers here are based on what 30 people can do, in 15 cities. Imagine
the effect if 100 and more were in 100 cities...and more

100 people = 11,042,700 OR $34,784,505.00

Please

cut and stick this reminder in your vehicle. And follow it daily until
it becomes a habit.

Trains- Turn off engine.
Check the pump - If pump is wrong, report it..use different pump.
Fill up - one gallon or one buck less - find a way to do without one gallon or
one buck.
Waiting at mall bank grocery day care, etc - Turn off engine.
Fast food - If your not car number ONE park go inside.
Cab Truck Drivers/Police/Work Vehicles - Any of those who drive for a living -
if you are not "working" don't let engine idle. Turn off engine.
Teen Drivers - Take away vehicle one night a week.
Cell Phones & Citations - Turn off engine.
Gas cans - Get ONLY what you need for this time; don't fill the can.
Set a block limit - if when you find your trips are within X block radius
walk it.
Highway Road Driving following Trucks - Long distance driving..use semi's
tailwind.
Slowing Down - Driving posted limits safer, but faster will only get you there
ONE to FIVE minutes more? Is your pocketbook worth it?
Lunches - Consolidate trips with coworkers daily to save fuel.
Boycott - The only boycott that will work is: SHUT ALL THE SEMIS DOWN FOR A
DAY.

Please feel free to add any of your own you see and also forward email to

jasinez2005@yahoo.com

If you were a newspaper and got this then I probably couldn't find your
letter to editor email address.
